Fate

2022

Acrylic on canvas

20 x 20 x 1.5 inches

This piece was my response for a call for entry regarding the topic “time.” When thinking about time, I immediately thought of the three fates from Greek mythology, who spin the thread of life, dispense it, and ultimately cut it, determining a person’s time of death. The fates represent destiny and an inevitable start and end.

I submitted the piece to my school’s literary and arts magazine (Muse). I went on to win the prize for most representative of the theme, which inspired me to join Muse the following year.
