Change

Watercolor on paper

12 x 10 inches

I made this artwork in my Sacred Art class (an art/theology elective), with instructions to create something based on a single word of the artist’s choice. I chose change. I freestyled geometric patterns using watercolor, then cut the paper into jagged shapes to represent the disruption I feel when faced with change. The geometric pieces create an asymmetrical yet balanced composition, showing that change is inevitable but not necessarily negative.
